Most people will not be able to try this because their scapulas don't have that range of motion. If you notice the skeleton, this is much more about the movement of the scapula than on the shoulders. There are movements like scapular push ups and scapular pull ups that will help with this. But don't rush to do any new movement you see online. Get to know your body first. Comment "jellyfish" if you need more help

Wishing someone told me this earlier… Bodyweight low rep high set lat pull downs really helped me to progress towards getting my first pull up! Yay! 🙂 I’m happy for you if you can do pull ups (I got super overwhelmed when I got my first hehe), but if not please try doing body weight lat pulls! Like other exercises which are dead hangs, scapular pulls, inverted pulls, this is a great way to build strength, enough to do a pull up. (Start slow, it’s alright if you struggle, I still can not do bw cleans, working on it but I can do 8-10 pull ups in one set, all thanks to this one exercise). It’s just a tip that helped me! #pullup #latpulldown #pullupprogression #pulluppractice #calisthenicsgirls

All I did was increase my lat strength through the lat pull-down machine. Deadhangs help, and working on the grip helps too. #fitness #pullups #gymgirl #fyp #workout

Most people unlock their first chin up before their first pull up. At the start of a calisthenics journey, getting that first rep feels huge. You did the band work, the negatives, the isometric holds, all the prep work. Finally you pull yourself over the bar for the first time. And you proudly tell everyone: “I just did my first pull up.” But chances are… it was actually a chin up. A chin up means your palms face towards you. This position allows your biceps to assist your lats, which makes the biomechanics more favorable for most beginners. That’s why many people unlock their first chin up earlier. When you switch to a pull up grip (palms facing away), things suddenly feel very different. Your biceps contribute much less, and your lats have to do more of the work. So even if you can do 3 chin ups, a pull up might suddenly feel impossible. So what should you train first? If you want to unlock a rep quickly and build confidence, start with chin ups. They build a solid pulling foundation. But if your real goal is pull ups, you should start training pull ups from the beginning. Strength transfers, but specificity matters. Train the movement you want to master. And remember: there’s nothing wrong with chin ups. They’re a fantastic exercise. Which grip feels stronger for you? Chin ups or pull ups

my back routine that helped me define my back 🫡 save this if you want a shredded back for 2026, and get in that gym and start now!!! routine below :)👇🏾 . . . . . ROUTINE: - pull ups: 1 set till failure - do assisted pull ups if you can’t do them yet: also 1 set till failure - lat pull downs: - 3 sets x 8 reps (increase the weight after each set) - once you finish your 3rd set drop the weight down one and do it until failure, keep dropping the weight and hitting it till failure until you clear the whole stack or at least clear 3 weights - seated low rows: - 3sets x 8 reps (increase the weight after each set) - same thing as last pull downs do that dropset till failure - finish off with dead hang until failure, to stretch out your back #gymgirl #musclemommy #explore #newyearsresolutions #fitness
