Wondering how to start calisthenics? Here’s how to start in the push & pull categories. 🔴 The most basic push movement you should aim to master first is the push up. However, if you’re a complete, it might not be the best use of your time to start with push ups. Instead, use easier progressions. First, try to get 10 knee push ups with good form. Once you can do that, try to get 10 incline push ups – the less you incline, the closer you’ll be to a normal push up! 🔵 For pull, the pull up is an obvious goal. For many though, a pull up might be considerably harder than a push up, so take your time with this one (expect a few months of work if you’re starting from 0). First, start of with some Australian pull ups. Make sure you squeeze your core and try to pull to your chest. Once you get comfortable with those, move on to resistance-band assisted pull ups – the great thing with using bands is that you can progressively make the exercise easier & easier my using thinner & thinner resistance bands.
