2:54hr 🤭 my PB is 2:51 and that was in immaculate conditions with no wind so to come out only 3 mins slower with 30km/hr headwinds on the ride and run (and wasting all that effort in the swim) that sub 2:45hr I’m chasing is feeling so much more possible now! This race was all about beating past me, nothing to do with beating anyone else, (as is everything) and I did exactly that 🙌 Another huge shoutout to my @whitewolfnutrition fam for keeping me fuelled, helping me improve performance and of course recover! And @jackchapman.au for running all over the coast to get all the pics and vids for me 🥹

We're a week on from my first Olympic triathlon at @mooloolabatri and I've had time to reflect on the race and some of my key takeaways 🎯 Lesson 1: I've got to get better at swimming!! Despite beating my goal in the water and feeling better than expected throughout, it's a little hard to ignore that I came in the 89th percentile for my age group on the swim (compared to top half on the bike and top quarter for the run). Lesson 2: cramping was a real problem on raceday - this was something I struggled with throughout my summer training block, but I thought I had figured out the sweet spot for my sodium intake. I couldn't believe the amount of salt I lost on the day though - after the race, my tri suit was covered in sodium stains, and I was brushing actual salt crystals off my legs. Definitely something to experiment with moving forward so I can get it right next time 📈 Lesson 3: it felt really good knowing that despite my legs being the limiting factor as I closed in on the finish line, aerobically I was in good shape. This means that working on building muscular endurance in my legs needs to be a priority in the next training block, especially with the Gold Coast marathon on the horizon. All in all though, I am loving where my training journey has taken me so far, and I can't wait to put these lessons to use at the Port Mac IRONMAN 70.3 later this year - stay tuned to watch the progress 📈 #training #triathlon #ironman #fitness

What a day 🥹🤍✨ That’s a wrap on @mooloolabatri for 2026 - my first ever Aquabike and I managed to come away with a (very unexpected!) win 🥇!! I absolutely love this event and it was such a joy to be able to be part of it even while I am not able to run at the moment - Aquabike was such a great side quest this year and I had a BLAST! Thank you to also to the amazing women in my age group for the competition on race day, and congratulations to @theaveragerunninggirl for taking home the @austriathlon title 👑 Until next time Mooloolaba 🫶🏻

Well… tomorrow we race. For those who’ve been following along, prep hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing. There’s been a bit of a hip situation to manage and, for reasons still unclear, I’ve also sacrificed multiple toenails to the triathlon gods. So overall… strong build. It’s meant adjusting expectations a little, especially on the run. Not admitting defeat, just being realistic and playing the long game. Life outside of training has also been pretty hectic and my mind has been running a million miles an hour. So tomorrow my goal is actually quite simple. Go out there, do my best, and give myself a bit of grace. Just me, the water, the bike, the run. And hopefully a little bit of quiet in this very busy head. Big shoutout to @cupcke.apparel for always keeping me in the best kit, and @mapleroo.au for keeping the batteries charged through race week. See you at the finish line.
