GEIt started small. I’d pick up my phone to reply to a text and suddenly 45 minutes had disappeared. I’d open Instagram to check a friend’s story and find myself deep in reels watching strangers do things I didn’t even care about. I’d tell myself “just five more minutes” and then look up to realize an hour had passed. Every single day.
Here’s the thing—social media wasn’t always like this. Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube—they were built to keep us connected. To share moments with the people we actually care about. But somewhere along the way these companies realized the longer they keep you scrolling, the more money they make. So they added reels, shorts, spotlight—features designed to trap you.
So I’m building something to fix it. An app that removes all the addictive stuff—the reels, the shorts, the endless feeds—but keeps everything that matters. The DMs. The stories. The real connections.
Social media should help you stay involved in life, not disconnected from it. I’m done letting an algorithm steal my time. Join the waitlist in my bio.
