CL😭 Interesting fact:
American Psycho (2000) — Before Christian Bale was cast, the studio briefly considered replacing him with Leonardo DiCaprio, hoping for a bigger box office draw. Director Mary Harron fought to keep Bale, believing he understood the satire behind Patrick Bateman’s character. Bale even stayed in character between takes, listening to 80s pop music and doing intense workouts to maintain Bateman’s obsessive perfectionism.
The film is based on the controversial 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis, which was so graphic upon release that several countries initially refused to sell it shrink-wrapped. Apparently Wall Street narcissism hits harder when you add an axe.
