SEEnd Result included!🔥Again, my absolute FAVORITE😍Frozen Pond Combo, with Deep Firebrick🧱& Blue Rutile! Featuring RHC (Running Hot Chowder) for the dots as usual — and using Lustrous Jade as cover glaze outside this time! I know I‘ve done this (inside) combo more than once already, but with how beautiful this bowl turned out, I wanted to show it nevertheless in a standard full reel video 🤩😅! The way the shape of the bowl perfectly worked together with the luckily well-placed RHC dots and the cone 5.5 firing — I‘m so happy! 😍🤩🥳
I also love the large dot in the middle with the tiny dots around it! And the Deep Firebrick/RHC/Lustrous Jade combo outside is also just as nice, I think I might even use that combo for inside at some point! 🥳🥳
Credit for getting me onto the „Frozen Pond Train“ in the first place goes to Kathy McGuire (@klm4655 ), who first popularized these kinds of RHC-combos in general! 😍🙏❤️
GLAZING SUMMARY:
(glazes from @amacobrent & @spectrumglazes )
Inside:
2x Deep Firebrick (PC-59),
1x Chun Plum (PC-55),
1–2x RHC (SP-1173)* sponge dots (middle row 2x),
2x Blue Rutile (PC-20) all over.
Outside:
2x Deep Firebrick (PC-59),
1–2x RHC (SP-1173)* sponge dots (top row 2x),
2x Lustrous Jade (PC-46) all over (2nd coat only on top 3/4).
*RHC is a very watery glaze, even after full homogenization (new bottles often have a solid lump that needs to be broken up manually or with a mixer). For the dots on vertical surfaces, I use slightly thickened RHC: taking a portion of RHC, left in an open container several hours/ overnight or so, until it has a more creamy consistency (plus optionally some Gum Solution addition).
On white, bisque-fired groggless clay (W from Sibelco).
🔥Fired to Cone 5.5 (top shelf), using a „drop & soak + slow cool“ program similar to „C5DHSC“ on digitalfire.com: Heated with 60°C/h to 1185°C, 10 min hold, dropped quickly to 1130°C, 30 min hold, then cooled to 1000°C within 100 min.
