LO🤖 Interesting Fact:
To create the feeling of a "robot in love" while still making it sound like an actual robot, Pixar invited Ben Burtt—the sound legend behind Darth Vader's "breathing" and the lightsaber sound—to create all the sounds for WALL-E.
He created over 2,400 different sounds, including:
• WALL-E's wheel sounds → derived from the sound of an old Canon camera.
• The adorable "Waaaall-E" sound → a mix of human voice and an elongated effect using old analog equipment.
• Metal movement sounds → recorded from... a rusty supermarket cart being dragged across a cement floor.
Furthermore, to make the robot truly look lonely, the Pixar team spent two years just studying the light and dust in real-life junkyards, and replicated it exactly in the movie.
