TOYamaha SU700 let you control 22 parameters for each of its 40 tracks, via MIDI CC messages.
You can map them in the external channels of the Digitone, so by changing the MIDI channel you can control up to 16 tracks of the SU700.

H0This thing is fun in a cheap n easy 12bit way. The audio in the beginning is a loop i made from it when i pitched it with a Reel2Reel which sounded nice - gonna post that soon. I <3 drum machines

ITThe Roland TR-606 has some seriously cool sounds. Unfortunately you can’t really edit them. So I sampled the open and closed hi-hat into my Akai S3000XL, tweaked them there, saved them and then loaded everything into the MPC3000. There i was able to tune and filter them and programmed a nice pattern in adition to the song i am working on at the moment. Next step will be arranging the song and mixing it.

ITThe TR-707 is my favorite Roland TR machine. This has several reasons: It’s lightweight, it’s cheaper than 808 and 909, easy to program, got faders, has Midi and Sync ans it has a trigger output. On top of that you can build another chip into it so that you have up to 8 different drumkits.
For me the perfect live TR! Mine has 606, 707, 808, 909, CR78, DMX, Amen Break and Linndrum drumkits in it.
When i play live shows i am programming it from scratch and triggering the SH-101 with the Rim Shot.
This is what i did in this example here. All you hear is the 707 and 101. Reverb and Delay are coming from two Boss pedals: RV-6 and DD-7.
