JU🌊 In every disaster, it’s always the neighbors who move first. O’ahu is proof.
“Waking up to the aftermath of last night’s historic rainfall. Here is the current situation on Waialua Beach Road, where sections are sitting under roughly 3 feet of water!” — @ryzone
✅ Hawai’i hit by its second Kona low in a week — flood watch through Sunday
✅ Waialua Beach Road sitting under 3 feet of water — cars swallowed, roads gone
✅ 233 people rescued by official emergency services — but locals were out FIRST
✅ Volunteers gave their trucks, supplies, and lives in the middle of the night when the state was still asleep
✅ Noah Pang loaded 33 people, kids, cats, and dogs into his dump truck and kept stopping for anyone stranded
✅ Gov. Green estimates more than $1 billion in damage
✅ More rain expected — the storm is not over
The state counts rescues in the morning. The people were already out at 2 a.m.
