AUScoring doesn’t have to be fancy, but it’s one of my favorite parts of the process! Before we jump into the tips, today is sourdough Saturday! Every Saturday I answer baking questions in my stories so head over there 🌾
SCORING TIPS:
🥖 score cold dough. Either from the fridge or use the freezer for 30-60 minutes prior to scoring!
🥖change your blade frequently! I change mine roughly every 4 loaves depending on how intricate my scores are.
🥖shaping and fermentation make a huge difference in score so focus on nailing those! (I have tons of tips and troubleshooting for this in my sourdough guide!)
🥖go in with a plan! I use toothpicks to mark guides in the dusting flour before scoring.
🥖don’t stress too much about it. It is harder than it looks and skill mostly just comes with experience!
