I’ve never seen this before... and I’m definitely trying it. Instead of using a sharp needle tool to sign your work, this artist grinds the tip down to make it more blunt — and the result is a much cleaner, more legible signature. Honestly, it makes a lot of sense. Less digging, more control. Also love the tip: if you get little clay pills, just let them dry and brush them off. Simple fix. If you try this, be smart - grinding metal means eye protection and safety first. This might be one of those small tweaks that makes a big difference in your work. Happy New Year!! Exploring new patterns using negative space to divide the piece, leaving larger “blank” sections. Then following up with tapered teardrop wispy lines. The medium P shapes blade creates larger grooves in the beginning, and is used to round the inside corners. The medium rounded blade is great for rounding the square ends of the initial grooves, and also when creating the teardrop shapes. The small pointed blade can taper very thin lines to wider grooves as you vary the depth. 〰️➰➿ #potteryofinstagram #sgraffito #potterytools #potterytutorial #processart
