It’s a budget-friendly way to replicate the effect of a ProMist filter 👌 For those using Lightroom, a good starting point is setting clarity to about -40 and dehaze to around -15. Feel free to tweak those settings to get your desired look. The lower the numbers, the softer and dreamier your images will appear 🪄 I often dial down the clarity and dehaze in my pictures, even when I’m not specifically aiming for that dreamy aesthetic. It brings a lovely softness to your photos and removes that overly digital feel. I have been loving playing around with close-up shots lately and wanted to share little tips that I do for to keep them high quality 🥰 First of all, I use my Iphone for all my videos and I have used a macro lens for all the shots above. No you don’t need a fancy camera or expensive lens. I got my macro lens for only €29 on Amazon. Know your macro lens’ optimum macro distance! This is the distance between your lens and the subject where you can film the highest quality footage. It is usually on the product specifications. Mine is 0.8 to 1.6 inches. There usually a very small margin for your footage to get blurry so once you get that optimal distance, try to keep your subject there! (Very hard for people in the shaky hands club like me 🤣) Cut out blurry parts of your footage and then sharpen. I have some reels on my page where I talk about my Capcut settings for high quality videos. But basically don’t be afraid to sharpen your close up shots even up to 100! Use slow motion to make the shots even more aesthetic. This is also important especially if you only have very short clip of clear and crisp shot. Make sure when you lower the speed, that you select the “better quality” option. Another tip that’s always forgotten is to wipe your camera and lens.
