ROCreator Tools - Part Three
I get asked quite a lot what I use to light my shots, so here it is.
I use the Litemons LA200R, usually with a QR-P70T soft box. I find this combination works really well for me, as it produces a nice soft lighting source, while still creating even shadows for some cinematic footage.
And considering how expensive studio lights can be, I found this one especially to be great value for money, considering all of the features that come with it.

FAIn the studio, it all comes down to control.
On location, an umbrella is fantastic for throwing soft light everywhere. But for deliberate tabletop work, "everywhere" is the last thing I want. I need to be the one deciding exactly where light goes and how it behaves.
This is why the softbox is my essential tool in the studio. It gives me two main "dials" to shape the perfect light:
DISTANCE = SOFTNESS: By moving the box closer to my subject, I create softer, gentler shadows. Pulling it back makes those same shadows harder and more defined.
SIZE = CONTRAST: A large softbox wraps the light for subtle, low-contrast shadows. A small strip box creates a punchy, high-contrast look with sharp highlights.
It's this ability to precisely sculpt the light and shadows that makes all the difference.
