SELocalhost Explained (Simple Explanation) 💻🌐
Localhost is a term used to describe your own computer in networking. Instead of connecting to another computer over the internet, localhost refers to the same device you are currently using.
What localhost means
• It is the loopback address of your system
• Default IP address of localhost is:
• 127.0.0.1 (IPv4)
• ::1 (IPv6)
• It is used for testing and development without needing an internet connection.
Simple example 🧠
When a developer runs a website on their computer, they can access it using:
http://localhost
or
http://127.0.0.1
This means:
Computer → talks to itself → returns the result
Why localhost is important 🔐
