Practicing a slow "prop fall" forward where you catch yourself with your hop onto your plant foot will solidify in your player the right technique to strike the ball solidly every time.
Most shots in are done while moving with the ball making it even more important to be comfortable "leaning" into the ball while stationary (practicing) in order to hit these shots cleanly while running with the same technique.
Lastly, these are strength drills for your legs. And great drills for your balance. Everything you do in that worth watching you will do on one leg.
Training each leg to be independently strong and balanced as a plant foot will change the way you operate on the pitch!
