ANAre you getting big holes at the underarms on your top-down sweaters? 🧶
Try this method to avoid them:
Knit up the underarm stitches. At the body/sleeve junction, pick up 2 loops: one back to front, one front to back, then knit the sleeve sts. Pick up 2 loops the same way and knit up remaining underarm sts.
On the next round, eliminate the extra loops: slip the last st before the junction knitwise, slip the first loop purlwise, knit together through the back loop (improved SSK), then knit the next st together with the remaining loop. (This loop will be twisted, and therefore it may be hard to get your needle into these stitches…) Tighten your yarn. Voilà!
