even though this process can really be applied to learning anything new. at the start of the semester, i told myself i wanted to at least understand basic programming. you don’t need to know coding in biotech but i thought it’d be a useful skill to have to expand with.
i’m still a beginner but now i can actually read code (on a basic level), use functions, and write simple programs. with the help of ai, there’s so much potential for coding beyond that. the best day to start was yesterday so start now ✨

ELCoding updates on my full stack project 💡
I learned so many things during this project - simply because I’m not following a walkthrough. Instead, you give yourself a business problem to solve (aka your project) which will prompt you with many questions.
“How do I connect this button to my login prompt?”
“How can I secure confidential data in my application?”
So then you search for the answers (and that could be through documentation, mini tutorials, AI help).
That, my friend, is project based learning at its finest 🥹
Also, AI help (chatgpt, claude, etc.) is such a sensitive topic for some people so let me clarify that the goal is not to copy-paste code. The goal is to speed up your research progress and understand concepts. Like you would do with a mentor. They wont give you code but they’ll guide you to the right path 📚
