DAThe Department of Homeland Security is investigating several social media accounts that posted a video of a Border Patrol agent. An activist behind one of the accounts is questioning if the federal government is trying to suppress free speech.
On Sept. 2, six Instagram accounts, including @stopicenet, collaborated on a post about the Border Patrol agent, showing photos and videos of the unmasked agent and information regarding his previous employment, his hometown, his city of residence and his name. That post has since become the subject of a DHS probe.
The redacted subpoena, shared with the Southern California News Group, says it is about “Officer Safety/Doxing: (and names the agent).” The Department of Homeland Security did not respond to multiple requests for comment and questions about how the agency defines doxing.

I’ve been having a challenging time talking to elder immigrants about ICE, mainly because they don’t watch 🇺🇸 media so they’re literally not tuned in, and don’t even know that this is “that big of a deal.” They genuinely think I’m exaggerating even though ICE has already started coming into our neighborhoods.
