On March 10th we were approaching the tornadic supercell from the south through heavy tree coverage. Only flashes of lightning revealed the massive mesocyclone overhead. When we broke through the trees we saw a 1/2-mile wide wedge tornado. #stormchasing #tornado #indiana #severeweather #stormchaser

Stormy weather in Tennessee 🤯 The song Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma by Luke Combs is about the danger and thrill of chasing tornadoes and risky excitement. It describes someone chasing storms in Oklahoma. The song shows the mix of fear and adrenaline, and how the person keeps chasing danger even though it could end badly. 🚨🌌 The Sky Turned Into a Nightmare — A Brutal Weather Phenomenon 😱⚠️ The clouds didn’t move normally. They twisted. They darkened. They swallowed the horizon. 🌪 Rotating Sky: Cloud layers spiraling like a living vortex 🌫 Ominous Glow: Green and purple tones staining the atmosphere ⚡ Charged Air: Lightning crawling inside the clouds before striking 🌊 Pressure Drop: Wind shifting suddenly — nature preparing to erupt ☠️ Disaster Warning: Storm systems like this often unleash tornadoes, hail, or flash floods 😳 Final Clip: Watch the sky churn like boiling smoke — Earth’s atmosphere in full rage This isn’t just “bad weather.” It’s the moment the sky transforms — When warm air collides with cold, When instability turns beautiful clouds into violent engines. The creepiest storms are the quietest at first. No sirens. No countdown. Just a sky that doesn’t look right. And when the atmosphere begins to rotate… You’re already inside the system. This is Earth unfiltered — Brutal. Unpredictable. Alive. 💬 If the sky above you started spinning like this — would you stay and film… or run? 👉 Follow @skullofearth for more brutal, unfiltered moments of Earth’s wild side. 🎥 Video Credit: DM for credits/removal to the real owner. . . . #extremeweather #stormchasing #naturaldisaster #earthrage #skullofearth

Sound on 🔊 „This was Friday May 16. 2025. The night the F4 Tornado swept through around 11:00 pm. Both our Pulaski County and Laurel County got hit terribly bad. I was outside recording the sky, not realizing the tornado was going through right behind our house. Listen and you can hear the roar and tearing of metal. Very scary!“ Via @lpj1961 On the night of May 16, 2025, a powerful and destructive tornado struck southeastern Kentucky, causing catastrophic damage across several counties, especially Pulaski County and Laurel County. The tornado was later rated an EF4 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, with estimated wind speeds reaching up to 170 miles per hour (about 274 km/h). The tornado formed late in the evening, around 9:45 p.m., and remained on the ground for nearly two hours. It traveled more than 55 miles (about 90 km), carving a long and continuous path of destruction from Russell County through Somerset and into London before finally dissipating. As it moved eastward, the tornado rapidly intensified. Entire homes were destroyed, buildings were torn apart, and trees were uprooted or completely stripped of their bark—clear signs of a violent tornado. In some areas, the tornado reached nearly one mile in width, making it extremely dangerous and difficult to escape. The city of Somerset experienced severe damage as the tornado passed nearby, but the worst destruction occurred in and around London, Kentucky. Entire neighborhoods were flattened, vehicles were thrown long distances, and critical infrastructure—including parts of the local airport—was heavily damaged or destroyed. Who is Reed Timmer ? Reed Timmer is an American meteorologist and professional storm chaser who is known for studying and documenting extreme weather, especially tornadoes. He was born on March 17, 1980, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. From a young age he was fascinated by severe weather, and this interest eventually led him to study meteorology at the University of Oklahoma, where he later earned a PhD in the field. Timmer became famous for chasing dangerous storms and getting very close to tornadoes in order to film them and collect scientific data. His work helps scientists better understand how tornadoes and other severe storms form and behave. During his career he has intercepted hundreds of tornadoes and many hurricanes, often using special armored vehicles called “Dominator” trucks that are designed to withstand extreme winds and flying debris. These vehicles contain scientific instruments that measure wind speed, pressure, and other atmospheric conditions inside storms.
