CAIs it 'Back to School' season already? 😳🌞🏫
As parents, you're busy enough in the morning, so encouraging your kids to pack their own bags every day is a great life skill. Make sure they've got the essentials covered to keep them healthy, happy and protected from the sun while at school:
🤠 A bucket hat or wide-brimmed hat. If the school uniform is a baseball cap, consider packing something with a wide brim to cover their neck and ears.
🧴SPF 50+ sunscreen is non-negotiable. The school may provide sunscreen in the classrooms, but to be safe, pack a small bottle that attaches to the bag (there are plenty with key rings!) or fits in a side pocket is ideal. Remind them to use sunscreen before going out for playtimes and lunch, and to apply it to all areas of exposed skin.
🥤A big refillable water bottle to keep them hydrated throughout the day.
🍎 Healthy snacks in their lunchbox, such as fruit, yoghurt, and vegetable sticks.
Children and adolescents are in school or in care when daily ultraviolet (UV) radiation levels are at their peak, so it's also a good idea to encourage your kids to play in the shade when outside, if possible.
