SECRETARY OF DEFENSE: I would just say that when it comes to Gaza, the definition of insanity is attempting the same thing over and over again. As the President and Prime Minister pointed out last night, the President is willing to think outside the box, exploring new and dynamic ways to solve problems that have long seemed intractable. We look forward to further discussions and creative solutions. As the person tasked with leading the Defense Department, we are prepared to consider all options, as we have stated.
REPORTER: Mister Secretary, do you have a plan to send troops? Are you currently working on options for the President that involve U.S. troops in Gaza?
SECRETARY OF DEFENSE: The President is engaged in highly complex and consequential negotiations affecting both the United States and the State of Israel. We will continue working with our allies and counterparts, both diplomatically and militarily, to assess all options. However, we certainly won’t get ahead of the President or disclose details about what we may or may not be considering. That would not be sound military practice.

DA🎙️ Angela Rayner is planning to set up a council on Islamophobia, tasked with drawing up an official definition for anti-Muslim discrimination.
But some senior political figures are worried that the Government could adopt the same definition as the Labour Party, which has been described as so widely drawn is curbs free speech.
One of the people sounding the alarm is Dr Taj Hargey, a moderate Imam and scholar who is “deeply concerned” about the definition. He tells Kamal and Camilla it will close down open discussion of Islam and give extremists “a get out of jail free card”
