It was the end of April when @threadandsprout shared her self-drafted pinafore dress that was inspired by @tartan_tarlatan and @leila.makes over a year ago. After seeing Justice’s dress, I felt so encouraged to try it myself. I loved that it accentuates the waist and can be easily adjusted with size changes. So after gathering up the courage and asking both Anna and Justice a few questions, I took out my paper and pencil and started drafting my dream dress. After taking an entire month, I’m walking away from this project with so much courage to experiment more, be more creative and brave. I no longer consider myself a beginner sewist! I feel like after this project, I’ve “graduated” to an intermediate level. I’m here to say, you can do it too! Be patient with yourself, ask questions, and reach out to your community for support. I hope you have the courage to be brave and try scary things. (And update: if you’re so inclined, you can make one too! PDF pattern is up on my website !) Happy June 1st friends.
