But in all honesty, a lot of runners don’t run that many miles and it takes a very long time to build up to it! Due to my injury history, I’ve always had to be super cautious with my mileage and building it up, so to run that many miles right now would really screw me over 😂 quality over quantity! 2️⃣sure some people can get away without rest days, but a lot of us can’t! I’ve had to be really strict on myself when it comes to rest days to ensure that my body doesn’t get too fatigued, which in turn increases my risk of injury! So I currently have a rest day every week! But our bodies also need time to recover so rest is very important! 3️⃣some days are HARD, but a lot of days are easy ☺️ we need the easy days to be able to go hard on the hard days, otherwise the quality just isn’t there! 4️⃣if you felt amazing everyday, you probably aren’t training hard enough 😂so I would say I don’t just speak for myself, but for all athletes, when I say we rarely feel amazing 😂 the days to feel amazing on are race days, when it counts 😍💪🏼 5️⃣it can look like the life of a runner is super exciting and fun, but it really isn’t 😂 when you’re in the middle of winter training, it’s the same thing each day, eat, train, sleep, work, repeat 🔁 but it’s the boring routine that is the most important🥳 I really have got to a point where I fully accept that my training looks different to others, and I LOVE that! The best training for each of us will be different to somebody else, but that’s what is exciting! 🥰 I hope this post shows you that you don’t need to be doing the same as somebody else, because we don’t all do what you probably think!
