TUThere ya have it friends… we always try to do our best to give you a behind the scenes look at what boat life/boat work costs so here is the break down:
$50k into her, almost 4,000 hours or labor, and a “profit” of $39,000.
If you were doing this kind of work strictly to flip, absolutely positively not worth it.. BUT because of the fact we got to live , travel, and make videos on her for you guys it was beyond worth it to us.
Could we have bought a boat “ready to go” for 50k ? ABSOLUTELY! But it probably wouldn’t have been this comfortable and something catastrophic could have still happened after dropping all that money- and if it was advertised as ready to go we probably couldn’t have ever sold for more.
This project made us stronger (physically and mentally), elevated our labor skills, gave us amazing content to make videos around, was a platform to see and do things most people only dream about, and most importantly was an extremely comfortable home for an entire year that we got to share with our family and friends.
Does this break down make you want to run away from or towards a “cheap” boat?!
