RAThe Building Blocks of Music
The treble, bass, alto, and tenor clefs are symbols used in music notation to indicate the pitch of written notes.
They are placed at the beginning of a staff, which consists of five horizontal lines and four spaces. Each line and space represents a specific note.
The treble clef is the most commonly used clef and is shaped like an ornamental letter G. It is used to notate higher-pitched instruments such as the flute, violin, and trumpet.
The bass clef is shaped like an upside-down letter F and is used to notate lower-pitched instruments such as the cello, bassoon, and tuba.
The alto clef is shaped like an upside-down treble clef and is used to notate the alto voice and some instruments such as the viola.
The tenor clef is shaped like a treble clef with an extra loop around the middle line and is used to notate the tenor voice and some instruments such as the trombone.
