SH1. I stopped comparing myself to other educators.
Different classrooms. Different kids. Different strengths.
Comparison will have you questioning yourself for no reason.
2. I started taking my health seriously.
Running on empty before and after school was catching up to me.
Now? I’m intentional about how I start AND reset my day.
Because you can’t pour into anyone from a drained place.
3. I stopped feeling guilty for having a life outside of school.
Working beyond contract hours doesn’t make you a better educator.
And choosing your life outside of school doesn’t make you a bad one.
4. I stopped taking everything personally.
Student behavior. Outcomes. Hard days.
You can do everything right… and things will still happen.
That doesn’t mean you’re failing.
5. I stopped letting one bad lesson or data point define me.
We reflect. We adjust. We move forward.
Perfection is not the goal—growth is.
Teaching is hard. Leadership is hard.
But constantly pouring more of yourself into something
without protecting your peace?
That’s what breaks you.
If you’re in a season where you feel overwhelmed…
this is your reminder:
You don’t always need to do more.
Sometimes you need to do less—and do it better.

Save this for the days you feel off
You’re doing better than you think!
