❤️ My dad was born in Pasadena and my grandparents met in high school in a neighboring town, so the area holds a special place in my heart.
🌹People come to Pasadena for the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year’s Day, first held on January 1, 1890 or the Rose Bowl football game. Fun fact: Originally the parade featured flower-decorated horse carriages.
🚂 From the internet: ‘Old Pasadena developed in the 1870s, shortly after the arrival of the railroad in 1874, which turned the area into the commercial center of early Pasadena.’ When my boys were young, we rode the train to Le Grand Orange, a restaurant housed in the historic 1934 Del Mar train depot that sadly just closed in 2025.
