I fall into the category of being a visual learner. If you try and explain or show me something I NEED to create some sort of visuals in my head.
For this example I am using Rdls (romain deadlifts).
When it comes to rdls it’s a tricky form to master when your a gym beginner. A lot of people tent to feel it in their lower back rather then there glutes and hamstrings.
Here are some form tips to help you🫵🏼
1. RUBBER DUCK 🦆 - Imagine you have a rubber duck under your chin and you are holding it between your chin and chest whilst performing the movement.
2. SHAVING YOUR LEGS 🪒 - When hinging down into the movement imagine your are shaving your legs. To shave your legs the razor HAS TO TOUCH your leg… So it’s the same with the barbell it’s allowed to touch your legs as well.
3. CLOSING A DOOR 🚪- The hinge movement is the hardest part of the movement. A lot of people tend to go into a squat position (fully bending your knees) rather then the hinge movement (pushing your hips back). I want you to imagine there is an open door behind you and you can only close it using your glutes!

DAHow can you spot a Visual Learner?
Visual learners tend to be slow to participate in dance classes because they don’t learn through movement, they learn through observation. You may have a visual learner in your class if:
🟥 They like to sit and observe the class.
🟧 They refuse to participate.
🟨 They are quiet and may communicate with more physical movements (shaking their head no for example) rather than spoken words.
🟩 You may catch them performing small movements while seated but may stop if you notice them.
🟦 They may not participate exactly like the others right away! They will most likely pick and choose the activities they want to participate in and when they do, they may be selective in how they participate. For example, in a game of freeze dance, they may be on the dance floor with the other kids but may not actually dance.
How can we help Visual Learners become more comfortable?
🟥 Build Trust! Visual learners want to watch and observe to be sure they are safe. So building trust with them is really important. This means letting them know that they don’t have to do anything until they are ready!
🟧 Give them a Special Job! I’ve noticed visual learners may get excited to do special tasks for the teacher. For example helping the teacher clean up props! Thank them for being such good helpers!
🟨 Check in with them. I frequently check in with them to see if they’re ready to participate. If they aren’t ready I let them know that is okay and that I’ll come back around to them again to see if they’ve changed their mind.
🟩 Don’t Force Them! These learners will really be ready when they are ready. Usually when they do participate you’ll be amazed at all the dance moves they learned just by watching!
🟨 Don’t punish them. Making them feel bad for not participating will not build trust, and it will make them less likely to participate in the future.
🟦 Praise them! When you do see them participate, be sure to praise them, even if they aren’t participating like the others. Just the fact they wanted to be involved in their way is a huge first step!

RAWhat’s this backdoor 🚪 thing about?
The Roth IRA is a crowd favorite among investors, and for good reason! You pay taxes once (when investing in this account), then you don’t pay taxes ever again. Your money inside the account grows tax-free and you can withdraw funds tax-free after age 59 1/2*
*You must have held your account for at least five years.
You can also withdraw CONTRIBUTIONS (not earnings) tax and penalty-free at any time.
2022 Roth IRA annual contribution limits:
$6,000 if you’re under age 50
$7,000 for age 50 and over
(When the IRS dangles an account in front of you and caps what you can put in, that’s an indicator that it’s probably some good ish. 😁)
But here’s the kicker…there are income limits.
If you earn above $144,000/year as a single filer or $214,000/year married filing joint, you cannot contribute directly to a Roth IRA.
👉🏽 Incomes are based on modified adjusted gross income (MAGI).
But don’t give up if you’re in that boat…simply enter through a backdoor!
…Yes, it’s legal. I’m honestly not sure why the IRS still fusses with income limits but here we are. 🤷🏽♀️
There’s a way to implement the backdoor strategy in a savvy, tax-aware way. I’ll break it down step-by-step later this week. ☺️
