How to Get to White Pocket: 🚗 High-clearance 4x4 is a must – The road is deep sand for miles, and standard AWD vehicles won’t make it. 📍 Trailhead Location – White Pocket is in the Paria Plateau region of Vermilion Cliffs. The drive from Kanab, Utah, takes about 2.5–3 hours. From Page, Arizona, it’s about 2 hours. 🗺️ Route – Take House Rock Valley Road > turn onto Pine Tree Road > then follow Poverty Flat Road > Corral Valley Road > White Pocket Road. Download offline maps beforehand! 🥾 Hiking – Once you arrive, it’s just a short walk to the formations, but be prepared to explore for hours! ⚠️ Pro Tips: ✔️ Go at sunrise or sunset for the best lighting. The landscape is UNREAL and feels like you are walking on Mars or the Moon. More info to plan your visit: 🛻4x4 high clearance vehicle is REQUIRED! The road to get to White Pocket is deep sand. We drove a Toyota Tacoma and it was fine - the hardest part was pulling over to the side if you come across other people driving the opposite direction. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒If you don’t have a 4x4 high clearance, you can schedule a guided tour that leaves from Page, AZ or Kanab, UT through companies like @dreamlandsafari 🥾There are no designated trails here but you can easily spend hours exploring the diverse landscape! Most of it is just rock scrambling so hiking boots are recommended. ⛺️There are free dispersed campsites at White Pocket. Be aware is is SANDY - it was windy when we visited so a lot of sand got in our tent. 📸The best time for photos is right before sunset. You can get there from the north side starting from Kanab or if you are in Page you can access it from South side . 🥾This is the perfect alternative to the Wave, and it’s an absolute hidden gem. After parking your car, you will see a short sandy path that will lead you the rock formations. From that point, you are free to choose your own adventure. There is no trail but just a series of incredible rock formations, small caves, waves and much more. . 🚗To get there you will absolutely need a 4x4 with high clearance like a Jeep Wrangler or similar. Getting there it’s literally an adventure since you will have to drive through deep sand and dirt roads for several miles. . 🌅The best time to visit it’s around sunset, that is when you will have the best lighting. Also check the weather in the days previous to visiting White Pocket and make sure it didn’t rain otherwise it will be almost impossible to get there because of the road. .
