JAThings I need to remind myself as a working mum trying to keep fit
1️⃣ Mum guilt is real but it’s okay. Taking time for yourself isn’t selfish, it’s survival. Your kids don’t lose when you care for yourself they learn what self care looks like.
2️⃣ You don’t have to do it all to be doing enough. Some days you’ll smash a workout, other days you’ll just walk and breathe both count. Progress isn’t about perfection, it’s about presence.
3️⃣ Your pace is still progress. You’re not in the same season as everyone else. Juggling work, home, and family means your “slow” might still be someone else’s sprint.
4️⃣ The housework can wait your mental health can’t. A 30 minute workout or walk might not fold the laundry, but it’ll reset your patience, energy, and mood. That’s worth it.
5️⃣ Rest is not weakness. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Rest days, lazy mornings, or skipping a session when you’re drained that’s self awareness, not failure.
6️⃣ You’re setting an example, not chasing perfection. When your kids see you move, eat well, and look after yourself even when it’s messy they learn that strong doesn’t mean flawless.
✨ Because the truth is you’re already doing enough. You’re showing up, trying, learning, and giving and that’s what your children will remember most.
