🍓 Want strawberries in a small space? Try a strawberry pot! These classic containers let you grow multiple plants in one pot, making them perfect for patios, balconies, or small garden spaces. Start by adding potting soil to the bottom of the container and planting your strawberries through the side pockets as you fill the pot. For this one, we planted three strawberry plants and a mix of thyme, parsley, marjoram, and nemesia for extra color and flavor. 🌿✨ The result? A beautiful container that’s both edible and ornamental. Place your pot somewhere it will get 6–8 hours of sun and keep the soil consistently moist. Soon you’ll have strawberries (and herbs!) ready to harvest. #strawberrypot #strawberryseason #patiogarden #containergardening #zone8a

What’s your garden regret? 😜 I planted Mexican Petunia 5 years ago, and it was beautiful. Then 4 years ago I dug it up and trashed it after I saw how fast it spread…. and every year since it’s popped back up. 😳 Honestly, many other pass along plants fall into this category as well for me, but I’ll stick to just one plant. What’s yours? #zone8A #atlanta

Growing Ginger in grow bags is a fantastic way to have a successful harvest while not taking up valuable garden space for 8+ months. Both Ginger and Turmeric need long growing seasons but it’s not always ideal to use up your garden space for these crops since they do so well in inexpensive grow bags. . If you want to grow ginger next year, and I recommend doing so as fresh ginger is amazing, you will want to start your ginger indoors in December or January. You can purchase organic ginger from the grocery store to grow, and I will take you through the process step by step in real time. So make sure to follow if you would like to grow ginger with me. I use 7 gallon grow bags for ginger, turmeric, garlic and onions so that I can utilize my garden for other crops. I have had these grow bags for over 5 years and they are holding up great. The handles have not ripped despite lugging them all over my yard. I use my ginger two ways. I freeze most of it to use in recipes. Frozen ginger is easier to slice, chop and grate. I also use a coffee bean grinder to make ginger powder after dehydrating thin slices of ginger for 10 hours at 158F. if you’re nodding your head right now, you’ll love what’s coming. 🪴Propagate Tindora plant from stems every year - : 🪴After the growing season before the first freeze cut your tindora stems into 8 inch diagonal strips : 🪴Move the mother plant with stump to a pot and bring indoors under grow lights ( I grow my tindora in pots so I brought in the pot with the stump) : 🪴Place cut stems into a container filled with pebbles fresh water and place near a source of light : 🪴Change the water in the container periodically to save the plant from root rot . Keep monitoring from time to time : 🪴In a week or two, your stems will all have roots growing from them : 🪴Plant each stem in a pot with soil after applying root stimulator to the roots : 🪴Place mini pots under grow lights until spring and them bring outside after the first frost : 🪴The stump stays dormant and starts sprouting leaves in spring when they are brought outside! : 🪴Repeat every year and enjoy delicious Ivy gourds year after year for free!! : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : #gardening #garden #gardenlife #texas #gardentrellis #eggplantgang #zone8a #VibrantVeggies #EpicEggplantCreations #EggplantDelight #plantpropagation #GardenGems #tindora #plantcareinwinter #winterizingplants #dallasgardens #dallasgardening #GardenToTable #homegrown #homegarden #dallastx #dallasblogger #homegarden #compost #vegetablegarden

In a world full of Target girlies, be a Home Depot girl 😆 I know my husband is much more approving of this version of me…even if I’m still spending money 💰 @homedepot • Did I mention that these bags of mulch were on sale today 5 for $10, and I got 60 bags. I think I I may be heading back for more soon. Stay tuned for my spring project. • #homedepot #diygarden #homedepotgirl #landscape #diylandscaping

Peppers are my absolute favorite crop to grow. They are low maintenance, I don’t really deal with a lot of pest pressure, they’re easy to grow, and produce all the way until first frost. The first clip of me holding all those peppers in a bowl was harvested in October! Not to mention, they are delicious, easy to cook with, and easy to preserve. You can freeze them, dehydrate and grind them into powder/seasonings, make hot sauce, make sofrito, pickle them, etc. Here are the varieties that I’m growing this season: 🫑=sweet 🌶️=spicy 🫑 Orange Bell 🫑 Ozark Giant 🫑 King of the North 🫑 Early CalWonder 🫑 Lesya 🫑 Sweet banana 🌶️ Jalapeño 🌶️ Habanero 🌶️ Brazilian Starfish 🌶️ Buena Mulata 🌶️ Aji Limon/Lemon 🌶️ Cayenne 🌶️ Poblano (not pictured) What is your favorite variety of 🫑🌶️ to grow?

You can grow your own kitchen or bath sponges. Comment SPONGE and I will send you a source for seeds. Luffa gourd needs 110 days of warm weather growing. If you have a shorter growing season you can start the seeds indoors to increase your chance of a good harvest. Seeds typically germinate in 7-10 days. Clipping a tiny piece off the top of the luffa seed (I use nail clippers) can speed up germination. (I have a video on how to do this in my luffa story highlight in my profile. The vines do well having something to climb and work great on a garden arch. I like to grow 3-4 plants knowing a couple may get eaten or not survive. 2-3 plants will typically give me a year’s worth of sponges. #Luffa #loofah #luffah #luffagourd #growyourown #gardening #zone8a
