ACThere are so many stories of Acton learners who leave traditional school around age 9-12 and find their stride in an Acton studio and it’s so beautiful.
Why does this happen so often at this age?
Because this is when a child’s true self starts to emerge. They start to find what they love and what they are interested in. This is when they have one toe in childhood and one toe in the pre-teen years….. and it’s also, sadly, when they can begin to lose a bit of their light.
At Acton, they move constantly, the learners lead the studios, they have time carved out to lean into their passions each year and their studios are full of earned freedoms, movement and joy. No desks, no homework, no wasted time.
