These are the kind of hikes we dream of doing 😴💭 🧗 Acadia National Park is filled with dangerous hikes where ladders and grab bars are a necessity. And the best part, no climbing equipment is needed! Here are the 2 hikes from the video: 🪨 The Beehive Loop Trail - 1.5 miles, 508 ft elevation gain (easier hike with less technical climbing) 🪨 Precipice Loop - 2.7 miles, 1,000 ft elevation gain (much more challenging hike with drastic elevation gain while ascending) Also, if you have a fear of heights, both of these hikes may not be for you 😬 And don’t forget to wear sturdy shoes! 🥾 Follow @madiantravels for more inspirational adventures like this!

Acadia National Park is definitely a place you don’t want to miss! From cliffside hikes to scenic drives and iconic lighthouses, this park has it all🌊🌲 Here’s what we recommend 👇🏽 🐝Beehive Trail – 1.4 miles mostly going straight up a cliff…hanging by iron rungs. If you’re scared of heights maybe skip this one 🌊Great Head Trail – 1.8 miles with ocean cliffs + sandy beach views. 🚗Park Loop Road – 27 miles, the ultimate scenic drive through Acadia! 🌲North Bubble Trail – 1.5 miles, panoramic views over Jordan Pond 💡Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse – iconic photo spot, best at sunset but beware that the parking lot is tiny Have you been to Acadia yet? #acadianationalpark #visitmaine #usaroadtrip #bucketlistadventures #usatravel #beautifuldestinations

Save this for your trip to Acadia National Park! 🥾 ✨The Precipice Trail is one of the coolest trails in Acadia, and totally worth the hype! But it is also very popular! Here are my best tips: ⏰Get there early! Parking can be tough to find and you may have to walk a bit! 🥾Be prepared! This hike is NOT easy and has dangerous parts! If you are super scared of heights, you may want to reconsider! 💦If it is wet or has recently rained, rethink going on the trail! The exposed rocks and metal rungs can get slippery and falling is the last thing you want to do! 🗺️Know which route you are taking/which way your are going! When we went, I know what I was doing and there was a guard making sure people knew which way to go! My personal thoughts: it is a beautiful hike and not nearly as scary as some make it out to be. Totally worth it, as it is a unique hike and is supper fun! ✨It is also similar to the more popular Beehive Trail for comparison, and that trail is arguably scarier! Travel notes: ❄️The park isnt open year round 🦅Sometimes trails can be closed for breeding season (in summer) so if you are coming for this trail, plan ahead accordingly! 🎟️You will need to pay admission or have a parks pass to enter the park, but you don’t need reservations to get here! Overall, I highly suggest this hike if you love something a little more out there and super beautiful! Have you hiked this trail? Acadia Charter Company (@acadia_charter_company) offers charters for groups of up to 6, with several trip options to choose from — including the perfect sunset cruise. Plus you can bring your own food & drinks on board! Precipice Trail - Acadia National Park This has been closed since March to protect peregrine falcons, their nesting sites and the surrounding habitat. We were so worried we wouldn’t get the chance to hike it, usually it opens end of August into September. With us days away from leaving we drove by headed to another hike when we saw the cones weren’t there, after asking a ranger if it was open they said it JUST opened. The next morning we got up and hit the trail by 7am where there were already many others along the trail with us! This trail was so exciting and fun!! It’s only 2 miles round trip but you’re hiking straight up the mountain the entire way up. So it is pretty difficult for those who aren’t used to hiking and definitely not the trail for someone afraid of heights! Wear good shoes and don’t attempt it if it’s wet out.
