THMe: I’ll never be able to work in healthcare because of these gloves!
They just get in the way! After years of trying to figure out how I am going be a healthcare worker and have to wear these gloves. I finally adapted and figured it out and I am just so proud of myself for not giving up! AMMy leg is shaped like a football....so here is how I modified a football into a climbing "shoe."
It's one-of-a-kind. 😎🙌👍
To make version 2.0 of my football climbing harness, I used molding foam to provide even more support. I use my little leg to stabilize myself while climbing up rock walls. I only have one fully functioning limb - my right arm. This means every bit of extra support or control I can get in my other limbs is very important to master a climb.
Custom-made items are a must for someone like me with an unusual body. If I can make it myself, it saves me hundreds to thousands of dollars. Most insurance companies don't pay for any adaptive sports equipment for athletes with disabilities - even though we need more tools than able-bodied athletes. These costs we cover ourselves. I've learned to figure out creative solutions that give me the access to sports that I want.....
What can I say? Girls like me just want to have fun 🙌
