The day you explained it all to me, I finally got it—and now I appreciate this beautiful art so much more. You’ve truly taken this craft to a whole new level. I haven’t seen anyone else make pieces as stunning as yours. Your collection is just wow—seriously, are you sure you’re not secretly a magician? Then onto the iconic @ashdeen who is a Parsi and has famous Parsi Gara atelier . The beautiful society women of Delhi commission him and many brides for their simply amazing weddings done in this rare very special embroidery.. @ashdeenl invited us to view his rare antique collection of Parsi Gara . It was simply mesmerising hearing about the history of this amazing embroidery and of the Parsi community who have been part of the silk roads for years . @ashdeen has the most beautiful calm energy and voice . And we were once again in awe of another one of India’s great creators and his love of history and his community. The Parsi embroidery was originally commissioned in China for the Parsi traders wives when they were there on business The Chinese didn’t understand how sari’s were draped . So the Parsi’s taught their home grown embroiderers this beautiful style of embroidery. I’m a particular fan and commissioned this beautiful coat I’m wearing by @patineoffial before lockdown . After hearing how the clients commission their sari and what’s involved we went down to his showroom and saw his beautiful clothes , shawls and art work . I fell completely in love by a track pants in lace , and Parsi Gara . Now I can’t stop thinking about it !!! (Luckily today our overwhelming experience at Varanasi has put everything out of my mind !😂😂😂) I was so thrilled to find @ashdeenl was having dinner with us last night. And we had the opportunity again to be with this most special human being , creator and story teller .

Ashdeen @ashdeenl is this incredible designer who has revived Parsi Gara embroidery and given it the most fabulous contemporary twist. We created a saree gown together—an absolute dream come true—and showcased it in a show where he collaborated with the @timeandtalentsclub . These women are amazing; they do so much good and help so many people. Their cookbook, filled with iconic Parsi recipes, is practically a household treasure. I grew up with it, and when I got married, my mom gifted me my own copy—so special! I still refer to it all the time, and what I love most is that every recipe is credited to the woman who contributed it, making it feel so personal and rich with history. Fun fact: These are the same legendary ladies who once brought down Sting and The Police to Mumbai, thinking it was a police band! This night was extra special—I got to walk with the most beautiful Parsi girls, including my sister, in front of an illustrious audience. So, thank you, Ashdeen, for having me—it was truly unforgettable!
