I have a lot of new questions… and I’m headed down a lot of rabbit holes. And first, let me be clear I’m post menopause and currently ON BHRT. And I’ve featured a lot of doctors on my show that are very much in favors of HRT. But what I want to know first is 1. IF you have chosen to NOT do HRT for you have you felt you have had to “explain yourself?” Do you feel shame around choosing not to be on it? 2. If you are NOT on HRT and are post menopausal , what have you found has helped you instead? 3. If you are open to sharing WHY you chose not to do it , I’m very curious in the comments why… no judgment! Just want to get a pulse of this 4. If you did do HRT and it created a problem later what did it create? Talk to me! Just asking the questions 💗💗💗

That means changes happen gradually as your hormones stabilize. Slow and steady is normal. 2️⃣ Labs matter Your treatment is personalized, and your labs are what guide those adjustments. Keeping your follow-up appointments helps make sure your dose is actually right for you. 3️⃣ You might feel a little up-and-down at first The first few weeks can come with small fluctuations while your body finds its new balance. Temporary shifts don’t mean it isn’t working. 4️⃣ Consistency = better results Take or apply your hormones the same way, at the same time, every day. Routine keeps your levels steady and your results smoother. 5️⃣ Your lifestyle still plays a huge role Sleep, protein intake, stress, hydration, movement — they all influence how your body responds to BHRT. Think of it as teamwork. 6️⃣ Stay in communication with your provider Questions, new symptoms, concerns, or changes in how you feel? Don’t guess or Google. Your provider is there to adjust and guide your plan. BHRT is a journey, not a sprint. When you understand the process, the results are worth it. 💛

Can you build and maintain muscle during perimenopause and menopause as hormones are declining? Heck yes! All my muscles were built after the age of 40, with fluctuating levels of hormones. I did this by focusing on the fundamentals. Strength training with progressive overload. At some point, I had to join a gym because I didn't have the equipment at home to lift heavy enough. I kept my cardio to shorter HIIT sessions. I increased my protein intake. I do over 1 gram of protein for my body weight in pounds. I added in more complex carbs for strength and energy during workouts. I actually decreased the amount I was working out and focused on 4, sometimes 5, strength training sessions weekly. Recovery allows for more muscle growth. If you don't feel like you need rest days, you may not be lifting heavy enough. I'm always working on getting the best quality sleep 😴 As I've mentioned before, I recently started on BHRT. This will definitely help me maintain muscle, but it isn't going to build muscle without me putting in the work! I've helped thousands of women make the changes they need with nutrition, workouts, and lifestyle so they can build a strong, healthy body. I wish I knew when I was 40 what I have learned over the years. Lifestyle, especially stress management, can make a huge difference. I'm glad I can at least share everything I've learned with the women I work with. I try to be very proactive with my health. When my doctor wasn't helping me with my hormone concerns (low estrogen), I decided to work with @amazingmeds to get some answers. The decision to get hormone replacement is very personal, and each person needs to decide with a doctor if it is right for them. I'll make that decision after my appointment on Thursday. As always, I love to share my journey and what has helped me along the way. As promised, I'm keeping you updated on my journey! Remember, this is my journey, and everyone has to make their own personal decisions. I've gotten asked quite a few times what made me finally decide to try BHRT. Honestly, I wasn't even really considering it when I went through menopause 2 1/2 years ago. I went through menopause with very little symptoms, but over time, my estrogen has dropped to pretty much zero. I started to experience some annoying joint pain in my hips that impacted my workouts and sleep. I also started noticing some thinning of the skin down there. Maybe some lower energy, too. Besides that, I really feel good. My biggest concern was bone and brain health. As my mother has osteoporosis and Alzheimers, these are definitely concerns for me. I do believe my healthy lifestyle has helped ward off a lot of symptoms, but we just can't avoid losing most of our estrogen post menopause. Any questions?
