It’s the end of an era.😢 My insurance denied me the option to remain on #Humira. I knew that this would likely be the decision. Thanks to @natalieannhayden, I will not lose hope! I plan to take detailed notes throughout this transition in case I do not transition well to #Simlandi. It does feel like insurance says, “here’s a new medication- GOOD LUCK BABE!” 🥴 I’ve known for several years that this day would come, but nothing prepares you for the anxious feelings of leaving a familiar, trusty medication that you have been with for nearly 10 years. 💔 I’m choosing to remain positive because what else can I do! The book has closed on #myhumirasaturdays but a new book, #SimlandiSaturday starts this coming week. Here we go! 🫣

My AS Journey Last week I was put on a new medication, a biologic biosimilar injection. So far it has helped tremendously. Initially I was nervous and skeptical as I’ve heard it could take up to 6 months to have any effect. I felt the effects within hours and continue to this day. Pain has dropped as well as the stiffness in my joints in the morning. I am able to play on the ground with my daughter with minimal to no pain as well as play the sports I love 🏒 ⛳️. Everyone is different and if you have AS, this medication might not work for you but what I do know is that with an open mind, moving and strengthening your body and having a good support system, you can accomplish anything. #anklosingspondylitis #mindset
