The whole front of the cabin was delaminated at the start of the boat project! I’m so behind on the progress, mostly because of trying to put as much time in as I can instead of editing video 😂 but this was early days. End of may. All the glass on the cabin just peeled off! That was the beginning of the can of warms that turned this thing into a more massive project than it already was going to be 😂 I put together a little vid of this and leveling the boat on stands to start the building on YouTube (that’s coming next, finally the forward progress)… it’s pretty crazy going back through these before clips 🙈🤯💩 @jeffhullfiberglass

The St. Lawrence River skiff looks kind of like a canoe but the hull shape couldn’t be more different. Canoes are boxy down low which gives them excellent carrying capacity and a ton of initial stability but that comes at the cost of efficiency and final stability. St. Lawrence skiffs and guideboats have more of a classic wherry shape with a narrow waterline when sitting level (which makes them fast) but a ton of reserve buoyancy as you heel them over. In any size of this boat I would literally fall over the side before the gunnel goes under. . . . #skinonframe #smallboats #boatbuilding
