Since I get asked all there time, here’s some different ways one can get CBT for Insomnia. Not a one-size-fits-all approach. And if someone just gives you a sheet of sleep hygiene instructions and says that’s all CBT-I, it isn’t and they don’t do CBT-I. One great website for finding a qualified provider is: https://www.behavioralsleep.org As well as: https://www.med.upenn.edu/cbti/provder_directory.html If you see someone who has the initials “DBSM” and/or “CBSM” (like me- DBSM is the newer initials) you know that they have passed a board certification exam as well as had hours upon hours of supervised training in CBT-I as well as other areas of behavioral sleep medicine (eg circadian issues, nightmares management, narcolepsy, kid’s sleep, etc). But the reality is that there aren’t many of us who are board certified and not everyone needs that credential. If you want to see someone for CBT-I and they don’t have the board certification, ask questions! What experience have you had with cases like mine? What courses and trainings have you taken? What supervision have you had? And, not everyone needs to see a clinician! Books and apps are great for many people as well. I tend to see the patients in my practice who’ve tried everything and nothing works, or they’re trying to get off medication, or want someone who’s been doing this treatment for decades. But that being said, not everyone needs it (which is why I wrote my book). Somryst and CBTi Coach are great apps as well! Nie znika to z rzeczywistości — tylko z Twojego postrzegania. I to nie dotyczy tylko wzroku. Dla mnie to wspaniały obraz tego, nad czym pracujemy w terapii cbt. Bo pokazuje, jak działa nasza uwaga: widzimy więcej tego, na czym się skupiamy. W lęku o zdrowie – skanujesz ciało → czujesz je intensywniej → pojawia się więcej „objawów” W lęku uogólnionym – skupiasz się na zagrożeniu → lęk rośnie → ciało reaguje mocniej W lęku społecznym – szukasz sygnałów oceny → znajdujesz je… nawet jeśli znaczą coś innego A kiedy czujesz się niewystarczająco dobra - mimowolnie rzucasz argumentów, które mogą to potwierdzić 🥺 Skupienie wzmacnia doświadczenie. A co jeśli przesuniesz fokus? ✔️ na to, co jest OK ✔️ na sygnały bezpieczeństwa ✔️ na fakty, nie tylko interpretacje ? Bo uwaga to filtr. A filtr zmienia to, co „widzisz”.
