vinyl records are incredible and i’d love to start building my collection one day :> but my space is also limited, so for now I stick with thrifting secondhand cds of my favourite albums and artists ♡.ᐟ.ᐟ
(⸝⸝> ᴗ•⸝⸝) personally I don’t see thrifting tangible media like cds, records, physical video games, blu-ray movies, etc. as a “”consumerist trend”” especially when there’s a lot of intent behind buying secondhand or supporting your faves ★ in an era of ai and multi-million streaming platforms where you don’t own what you pay for, being able to hold the media you love in your hands just feels right.
the best part is you can rip the songs from the cds and build your own digital library at home, get it signed by the artist at a show, re-gift the cd to a friend, pass it down to your family, or even sell it if you feel like you’ve outgrown the album. you can’t do that with a spotify playlist ʚ̴̶̷̆ ̫ ʚ̴̶̷̆
