I really liked how this Double Push Press looked for @nuswimdive : the ability to be explosive on the first rep, control both the lowering as well as organize the lower body set-up for the second rep, and be explosive on the second rep. . Have you had an Achilles injury? Need help? Comment “fix my Achilles” below, and I’ll send you some info! I’m passionate about sharing the proper way to rehab the Achilles and reduce injury risks. After rupturing mine twice, I’ve learned a lot about this incredible tendon. Achilles injuries are tough to recover from, especially without the right guidance. Many physical therapists underload the tendon, which hinders recovery. Remember, tendons respond to LOAD. If you don’t load the tendon enough, its capacity will be diminished. Here are some rehab tips: 🦶🏻 DON’T TAKE TIME OFF! Find exercises that don’t increase symptoms beyond a 6/10. Some pain is okay during Achilles rehab 🦶🏻 Bodyweight exercises aren’t enough 🦶🏻 Research shows we need to load 1.5x body weight to the soleus for 4 sets of 6-8 reps. Use the knee extension machine for soleus calf raises 🦶🏻 Intrinsics matter! Foot planks and floating heel exercises rebuild your foundation and improve muscular endurance of the calf/Achilles complex 🦶🏻 Achilles activation is significant during heavy strength training 🦶🏻 Not everyone needs dorsiflexion mobility work. Use the knee-to-wall test to determine if you need it. Avoid ankle DF exercises initially for insertional Achilles tendon pain (at the heel) 🦶🏻 Shoes matter! For insertional heel pain, wear shoes with a high heel drop or use wedges. For mid-tendon pain, wear whatever works best for you 🦶🏻 Don’t forget plyometrics! Incorporate repetitive jumps/hops/bounda to rebuild elasticity and get the tendon functioning properly. 🥨 Know someone who could benefit from this info? This is one of the most useful charts from the NSCA CSCS book. 📊 This chart essentially tells us about how many reps an athlete could do with a given %1RM For Strength: We typically want to program close to rep max. 🏋🏽‍♀️ This will make the repetitions relatively slow but very forceful. For Power: We typically want to program with submaximal loads. 📈 For example, using an 8RM load for 4 reps. Let’s crunch some numbers shall we In order to be a somewhat competitive candidate in a coaching position, you would need a bachelors degree, a CSCS, an internship (more than likely unpaid), continuing education, and in most cases a graduate degree Being very generous here with my estimates, but you’re looking roughly at a $70k - $120k investment over the span of 5-8 years. That’s pretty substantial if you ask me, that must mean with all these requirements the average salary should be pretty good starting off right? Well the average across the profession is roughly $50-60k per year averaging well over 40 hours a week, early mornings, late nights, and incredibly stressful situations I honestly think that’s bullshit The people that follow me and the ones I follow clearly love to coach, but it is very hard to do so for an extended period of time if they actually want a life outside of coaching That’s why so many coaches have taken to social media and selling online programs (myself included). You’re putting so much time, energy, and effort into this passion and you simply just aren’t compensated for it This is just a rant, but it’s been one for quite some time How many amazing coaches had to quit because they literally just couldn’t survive financially? Makes me wonder when the NCAA is a billion dollar organization 🧐 Hitman Out🫡

I don't believe in making trainers fight for commission scraps on the floor. I’m offering an apprenticeship-style role with guaranteed hours, direct mentorship from me and our coaching team, and a clear, mathematical path to making a real living in this industry. ​THE ROLE & SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM. (You must have zero conflicts with this block). You will be the gatekeeper of our evening energy. Your job is to manage the floor, assist our Operations Manager and Coaches during packed classes, correct form, film content, and keep the facility pristine. ​THE PAYOUT: We pay for performance, hustle, and community building. ​• Tier 1 (The Floor Rate): $20/hour. This is your guaranteed rate for your 20-hour block. (Note: If you need to step up and take a client/class during this time, your hourly rate bumps up accordingly). ​AFTER 90 DAYS: Once you pass your 90-day probationary period and our coaching standards test, you unlock the real earning potential while also keeping your set floor schedule: • Tier 2 (Group Class Lead): $35 - $55/class + Bonuses. • Tier 3 (1-on-1 PT): $45 to $55 flat per session. • Tier 4 (Semi-Private Hustle): You earn $15 to $25 per person, per session (capped at 6 clients). What is lumbopelvic dissociation and why is it so important for throwers like @geno ? 🤔 Lumbopelvic dissociation is the ability to independently rotate either the spine or the pelvis on one another. This is essential for throwers in order to properly create torque through the hips, trunk and spine to generate power when throwing. These exercises are some good examples of how you can work on that neuromuscular control and strengthening by locking the hips in place and doing upper trunk rotation resistance exercises. You can also work on lumbopelvic dissociation by fixing the upper trunk and doing rotation of the lower trunk.
