TOSony RX1R III Overview | My Experience 📸
I hesitate to call this a review because I feel like in order to genuinely and fully review a camera or lens, I need to use it for quite a long time, in a variety of circumstances.
I had this camera for about a week, so I was able to take it out on 2 distinct occasions, but I also used it in and around the office quite a bit during my time with it. So for now, I’d consider this more of a initial impressions / overview of the new @sonyalpha / @sonyelectronics RX1R III
This is a camera for a very specific person, there’s no way about it. It’s limited (by design), sleek, beautiful, expensive, and capable of producing some truly remarkable images. The detail gathered between this Zeiss glass and 61 mp Sony sensor really is stunning.
That said, this is not a new camera in many regards. The LCD on the back is of pretty standard quality, the viewfinder is recycled from the A7Cii / CR, and the lens is the same one found on the now 13 year old original RX1. There is nothing inherently wrong with ‘recycling’ good parts from other cameras, but when you consider the price of this setup, it becomes harder to swallow.
While the image quality is undeniable, certain limitations like no ibis and a relatively slow mechanical shutter are just hard to look past in my opinion.
What do you guys think?? Is this a camera you’d consider picking up?

IT50 seconds review on the most popular travel vlogging cameras
🎥 DJI Osmo Pocket 3
Comes with an inbuilt gimbal so its great for beginners and the footages are leaning towards a more neutral tone. However, it’s extremely fragile and I had to get mine replace twice this year..
🎥 Insta360 GO Ultra
The most durable tiny camera I’ve used for travelling and it only weighs 53g. My favourite part is that it comes with so many accessories that allows you to get creative pov shots by your own while travelling
🎥 iPhone 15 Pro
Most convenient to use and it’s great if you just want to take a quick shot. Despite having the other two cameras, I still use my iPhone for short form content and filler shots. But if you’re vlogging with it, do keep in mind that your storage and battery will run out quick if you’re filming in 4K
Each of the cameras above has a different purpose so if you’re not sure about which one to get for your next travel or if you’ve been thinking about vlogging- I hope this video helps!
