The remains of four U.S. Marines who were killed when their Osprey aircraft crashed in a Norwegian town in the Arctic Circle during a NATO exercise were returned to the United States on Friday. The cause is under investigation, but Norwegian police have reported bad weather in the area at the time of the crash. NATO Genel Sekreteri Mark Rutte, NATO müttefiklerinin Hürmüz Boğazı’nın nasıl tekrar açılabileceği konusunu değerlendirdiklerini belirterek, "Müttefiklerin işbirliği yaptığını ve bunun nasıl yapılabileceğini değerlendirdiklerini biliyorum. NATO Genel Sekreteri Mark Rutte, Norveç’teki temasları kapsamında Norveç Dışişleri Bakanı Espen Barth Eide ve Norveç Savunma Bakanı Tore Onshuus Sandvik ile ortak basın toplantısı gerçekleştirdi. Norveç’te "Cold Response 26" tatbikatını tamamlamakta olan NATO güçlerini ziyaretin ardından gerçekleştirilen basın toplantısında Rutte, Norveç’in Arktik bölgesinin güvenliğindeki rolünden övgüyle bahsetti. Rutte, "NATO, karşılaşabileceği zorluklar hangi yönden gelirse gelsin, müttefik topraklarının her karışın savunacaktır. Silahlı Kuvvetlerimiz aşırı şartlarda görev yapmaya hazırdır. Cold Response 26 tatbikatı, bu hazırlığı daha da ileriye taşımıştır" dedi. ABD Başkanı Trump’ın NATO’dan çıkmayı değerlendirme iması soruldu ABD Başkanı Donald Trump’ın NATO müttefiklerinin Hürmüz Boğazı’nın yeniden açılması çabalarına katılma konusundaki isteksizliği nedeniyle güçlü bir hayal kırıklığı dile getirmesi ve ABD’nin ittifaktan çekilmeyi değerlendirebileceğini ima etmesini nasıl değerlendirdiği sorusuna Rutte, "İran’ın nükleer kapasiteye ya da balistik füze kapasitesine ulaşma riski söz konusu olduğunda, NATO olarak kolektif bir biçimde bunun gerçekleşmemesi gerektiğini sürekli vurguladık. Bu nedenle balistik füze ve nükleer kapasitenin ciddi bir şekilde zayıflatılması hayati önem taşımaktadır" ifadeleriyle cevap verdi. NATO Genel Sekreteri, "Hürmüz Boğazı konusunda birçok müttefikle temas halindeyim. Hepsi Hürmüz Boğazı’nın tekrar açılması gerektiğinde mutabık. Müttefiklerin işbirliği yaptığını ve bunun nasıl yapılabileceğini değerlendirdiklerini biliyorum.
