Learning to recognise your baby’s cues can help you respond earlier, making your baby feel more settled, supported and understood.
✨ Common baby cues to look for:
😴 Tired cues
• rubbing eyes
• turning head away
• becoming quiet or fussy
• staring into space
🍽 Hunger cues
• sucking hands
• rooting (turning head looking for breast/bottle)
• lip smacking
😣 Overstimulated cues
• arching back
• crying suddenly
• turning away from noise or light

👶 Your baby may look tiny and fragile — but their body is doing BIG work every day.
Here are normal signs that show healthy growth and development 👇
😴 Sleeps Most of the Day (14–17 hours)
Newborns sleep a LOT because sleep helps their brain grow, memories form, and body develop. Long sleep hours in the early weeks are completely normal.
😮💨 Gets Hiccups Often
Tiny hiccups happen because your baby’s diaphragm is still learning. They’re harmless and usually don’t bother your baby at all.
🍼 Feeds Very Frequently (Every 1–2 hours)
A newborn’s stomach is super small, so they need small but frequent feeds to support fast growth and energy needs.
😊 Smiles While Sleeping
