FOALS OF COPPERBEECH CONNEMARAS | as they are ✨ Spring saw the arrival of the next generation of the Copperbech Connemara Ponies bred by Fiona & Tomás Grimes. Having welcomed four foals already this year they include: 💫Copperbeech Kingsman by Glencarrig Knight who is captured with his dam Copperbeech Star. He is the great grandson of Lishín Star, a four time Clifden winner and was Reserve Supreme Champion at the Connemara Pony Show in 2019. 💫Copperbeech Kruz by Glencarrig Knight and out of Copperbeech Polly. As well as a decorated ridden career, Polly was Reserve Broodmare Champion at the 2023 Connemara Pony Show. This strong colt is also the great grandson of Lishín Star 💫Copperbeech Kitty by Currachmore Cashel stands by her first time mum Copperbeech Guinevere. Kitty is a granddaughter of An Cheathrú Chaol Bláthnaid who was Reserve Visitor Champion in 2016 at the Connemara Pony Show. 💫Copperbeech Kerri is a filly by Glencarrig Knight out of Copperbeech Fiona’s Lady and marks a special moment in the Copperbeech breeding program. Her arrival marks the fifth generation of mares owned by the family and is the great great granddaughter of Clydagh Marie who was owned by Fiona’s father. Reducing this copper beech hedge has been one of the gardening teams tasks this week. Copper beech hedges look stunning throughout the year and whilst they are trimmed each year periodically they need to be reduced in width and height to maintain a really good looking hedge.
