MAIve grown to understand the power of sound in videos. Of course when we talk about videos we talk about what we see. However, when we talk about experiences we talk about what we feel. I’ve always seen filmmaking as creating an experience to the viewer. Therefore, sound plays an important role in creating the full experience. Sound makes it real, sound makes it powerful, sound brings out the best of the visuals we see.
That’s why I always start my creative process by choosing the music and editing it before even thinking about what my scenes are. The music itself guides me to imagine the shots of the visuals.
Sound design is a huge part of the creative process. Listening to the music helps me understand which sound effect compliments the music and visuals. Timing it with the beat of the music to have a satisfying effect for the experience. Crack of an egg, Thud of a door, Screech of the tires… All of these sounds make the experience believable, makes our ears enjoy the experience as much as our eyes. Never underestimate the Power of Sound!

MIFirst time in Fukuoka with mama and papa Rai!
So many special memories for a lifetime :) some of our recs:
1. Pokemon Center Fukuoka
they have two exclusive Pikachu’s. Including a Pikachu Pikachu holding a bowl of Ramen!
2. Musashi Kuroge Wagyu
Some of the best beef bowls we’ve ever had! They have three different grades – they were all delicious. Three bowls for $40!!
3. Imonne Hakata gelato mochi
Soft soft mochi wrapped around fresh ice cream! Matcha was our favorite
4. 本わらび風の矢
Warabimochi is probably my favorite dessert of all time! Topped with Kinako (soybean powder) and melts in your mouth
5. Day trip to Yufuin
Stay at a ryokan with natural hot springs + walk around a spirited away inspired street!
6. Dazaifu Tenmangu
There are 3 bridges at this shrine called “taikobashi” and the represent the past, present and future. Make sure not to look down or behind you, as it’s considered bad luck! Bomb chicken karaage and matcha by the streets too ;)
