They're seeing the relationship between numbers, understanding the 'why' behind the answer. This foundation makes everything easier later. From multi-digit addition to algebra. When students understand the reasoning, they can solve problems they've never seen before. Try this at home: Grab two colors of anything (buttons, coins, cereal) and let your child physically group and count.
