De fato, duas meta-análises muito recentes mostram que que a suplementação diária de HMB (3g/dia por ≥12 semanas) aumenta a massa muscular e a força de handgrip em adultos com mais de 50 anos, incluindo aqueles com sarcopenia, reforçando que o uso do HMB pode ser uma estratégia para combater a perda muscular relacionada à idade. I’ve been using HMB for a while now and it’s made a noticeable difference in how my body feels between workouts.

β-hydroxy β-methylbutyrate (HMB) is made when your body breaks down leucine, which is the amino acid that signals muscle growth. High level…leucine helps build, while HMB helps protect what you’ve already built. 

There’s a study in the “Journal of Applied Physiology” that showed athletes taking a daily dose of HMB had less muscle damage and faster strength recovery compared to placebo. 

Keep in mind, it’s not a quick-hit supplement (you don’t “feel” it) but it definitely helps you hold onto muscle over time.
