This is why I love nervous system regulation so much. It helps us better understand how the mechanism works. Our ability to be self aware and make better decisions often isn’t available to us when we are in the pattern. It’s automatic and passive. That pathway is like grooved deep so it’s going to take intentional, effortful, consistency to shift that to new scary but helpful behavior into familiar calm goodness. When I was building my own business I kept getting in my own way majoring in minor things only to not put focus on what really mattered. This suppressed my emotional blocks and surprise surprise 😮 no changed happened beyond my anxiety and self awareness going up. Change did occur when I stopped shaming myself and trusted the process. Can’t read the label inside the jar so take time to take time. Time, energy and effort are tags your nervous system sees in behaviors as important. This way you turn new and scary into curious and calm.
