CSRep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC), the chair of the Rules Committee, praised President Trump’s “big, beautiful” reconciliation bill ahead of a House vote to advance the legislation.
“It is one of the most consequential pieces of legislation that any party has ever passed, and for good reason,” she said during a floor debate on the rule.
“Historic tax relief for working families, massive investments to secure our nation’s borders, capturing generation savings, slashing waste, fraud and abuse in government programs so that they may run more efficiently.”
Assuming full attendance, Republicans can afford to lose no more than three votes — and more than a dozen Republicans are reportedly unhappy with the Senate changes to the bill.
